Liu Bolin for Valentino:
A pleasant surprise was Zhong Biao's Hey Baby:
I loved the minimal color scheme of acrylic and charcoal on canvas. Most of all, I liked the intentional pun of the title, "hey baby," which can refer either to an infant or a love interest.

Could visitors actually touch the flexible human coz it looks really interesting to play with.
ReplyDeleteLiu Bolin is easy to spot here. I've been intrigued by some of his works.
Have you heard of Liu Bolin before? I love his works that deal with fashion.x
DeleteI liked the red dresses and the head that you could stretch, but I had a WHAT THE???? moment when I saw those hanging bodies! D:
ReplyDeleteha ha, some works are indeed disturbing; but how could art be interesting without some shocking aspects?x

ReplyDeleteohhh actually i've been to sprinkles a couple of times in LA before.. to be honest i just think it's ok.. but if you're in the DC area again you should definitely try georgetown cupcakes i think it's better than sprinkles. :)
Lisa, thanks for the suggestion - to be fair, I never gave G-town cupcakes a try, so I'll definitely do that on my next trip.x

ReplyDeleteAnne - thank you! I wish I had asked more about them while I was there, but they looked like wax made from molds of real people.x
