Most unexpected and disappointing was that the NYPD had put up barrack-like fences around much of the pedestrian walkway, but there were still some spots that you could still experience panoramic views of the city.
When places are overrun with commercialism, congested with tourists, I find that it somewhat ruins the experience. I don't know what I expected from New York or where I formed those expectations from; I constantly want to meet people and I want to feel things, but I felt that something I expected to see or feel was missing. As S put it, "it was underwhelming."
Often I find that this can be cured simply by spending more time taking in one location rather than many. What do you set out to find when you travel?

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog earlier, I just came to visit yours and it is beautiful! I agree with you about spending more time in one place rather than trying to cram all the touristy activities into a short span of time. Can't wait to read more from you :)
